We're in trouble...

For my nephew Cooper's birthday party, my sister and I made these cream cheese/choc. chip filled chocolate cupcakes. We had a fun time making them. Cooper loved every second of having his first bites of sugar and he made a beautiful mess.

Aunt Kate was eating one of these cupcakes while she was holding Sarah. All of a sudden, Kate felt Sarah's whole body tighten up...we all watched as Sarah focused in on the cupcake. It was hilarious! She totally wanted it. She could not take her eyes off of it. She is noticing our food and drinks more and more. I think we will be starting the rice cereal pretty soon. Guess she is just like her mother! ; ) I love all things sweet!

Milestones:
Sarah would still rather stand than sit any day
She is fascinated by her hands, and now ours too
She sleeps great!
She loves the pool
She can roll from her belly to her back
She laughs frequently
Music calms her very quickly
We love her so much! She makes us smile every day!

Salt Lake City

Last week we had the chance to visit our friends Brad, Lolly, Sammi, and David in Salt Lake. We went Tuesday through Saturday...can I just say that it was fabulous being in 75-85 degree weather?! We had so much fun up there. They are like family to us... We had a fun and busy week (which means I didn't get very many pictures). I went to several homes on the "Parade of Homes" tour with Lolly and Sammi, while John rode bikes with Brad and sometimes Davey. I met my friend, Kelly for lunch on Wednesday (we had awesome Thai food!) and went for a bike ride on Thursday. Thursday night we all went up to the canyon to BBQ and go fishing. It was so beautiful up there!

Our friends Mike and Diana met all of us there too. We had a great time!

Lolly and I did some great shopping on Friday at some fun little boutiques...I didn't get in too much trouble. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end...and we headed back home Saturday. Thanks Brad & Lolly for being so hospitable!

I'm 4 months old!

Sarah May
is now 13 lbs
and 24 inches long!

We love her more and more every day!
Her personality is really coming through.

This past month, she had her first little swim in Grandma and Grandpa's spa.
She loved it! It was like taking a bath!

She recently found herself in the mirror...she was so enthralled. She still loves her hands, which now includes her thumb. We are really trying to keep her from sucking her thumb. The other night I put socks over her hands almost up to her shoulders...when I went to check on her, they were off! She also rolled for the first time. I routinely do "tummy time," and she hates it. On Saturday, we we chillin' on the floor (she was hating every second) and she flipped over to her back. I think it surprised her a little bit!

Sarah is fabulous about going to bed. We have a routine down...and I never have to help her fall asleep. The only problem with that is, it is hard for her to sleep other places (like when we went to SLC last week) She is all business when it comes to eating - no burping, just eating. BUT, let me just tell you!...that girl spits like no other!

She hasn't laughed yet, but I think her fake cough is her way of laughing. She gives big grins like she wants to laugh, but then makes her fake cough sound. She is grabbing at toys and holding rattles very well, and I think she will be sitting up soon!

My apologies for the bragging! I'm basically doing this for the journal aspect of this!

I'm turning into my mother....which is not a bad thing!!

Many people know that I am a night owl...a couple of weekends ago I was picking up around the house (shocking, I know). It was about 11:00 pm and I was working on the kitchen. I have wanted a new dining table and chairs since we moved in, but those items are very low on the priority list. The chairs were green to match our old house. Notice I said "were"... I decided right then and there to re-cover my chairs with the leftover fabric from pillows I made. About 30 minutes into this project I thought, "Oh my goodness! I am turning into my mother!!!" I've been musing to myself lately about how I really, really am turning into my mom.
Top 10 signs that I am turning into my mother:
(my siblings will especially appreciate this)
1. I feel compelled to make chocolate chip cookies every Sunday (I never do, but dream about it)
2. I am unable to talk without the use of my hands
3. I've started drinking Diet Coke with a little bit of Dr. Pepper on the top
4. I find it necessary to talk on my cell phone when I am driving alone
5. I am starting to get quite the "Shade" collection (mom has one in every color)
6. I have a recent obsession with aprons and sewing them
7. Seriously! I mean, "seriously."
8. I get my "second wind" at 11:30 pm
9. I have like 7 unfinished projects sitting in my house
10. ...AND YES, I do have an open bag of chocolate chips in my freezer to snack on!
I am sure there are more "querks" we both do, I just can't think of them right now. I love you Mom!
PS - The apron on the previous post was a fundraiser for the youth in our ward and it went for $45!! Whoa! It was kinda funny that it went that high, and the lawyer's will/trust package went for $50.
Priorities people!
