Halloween Party

Friday night we went to Melissa & Wayne's fun Halloween Party! John was Superman (thanks Jeremy and Katie!!!) and I went as Lois Lane. The theme for the night was "at the movies." As we came in, there was a red carpet...there was even movie theater food - nachos, hot dogs, popcorn, etc. We played some fun games too! See if you can guess some of these movie quotes...

"Let's shoot fireballs at it!" Joe Dirt

"You think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys?" Napoleon Dynamite

"Look at the moon! It's so big and round!" The Kid (Disney)

"Invention my dear friends in 93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation and 2% butterscotch." Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

"I've got a dollar...I've got a dollar..." Little Rascals

"As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again." Gone with the Wind

"There's no crying in baseball!" A League of Their Own

"Here's looking at you kid" Casablanca

"It's not a tumor!" Kindergarten Cop

"Give me something deep fried and covered in chocolate." Shrek

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
Ferris Beuler's Day Off

"You've got to ask yourself on question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do you punk?" Dirty Harry

"FOR...EV...VERR" Sandlot

"My back end's going to Baton Rouge." Toy Story

"Hello, my name is Enigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
The Princess Bride
I will post the answers on Wednesday. ; )
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

We had a big birthday bash for Grandma and Grandpa! The highlight of the night: Richard (my cousin) made this amazing professional quality slideshow of all their old black and white pictures. Lots of cool photos of grandpa in his army uniform and pictures in front of their old Plymouth. Awesome!

Gooseberry Mesa/Bunker Creek Mountain Biking

This past weekend John and I went on a fun little road trip! Thursday night we went to the cabin after stopping in Mesquite to visit John's grandma. John got a couple of nights off so we get away for his birthday. We had soooo much fun! Friday we had Pizza Factory for lunch - our favorite!! Then we met our buddy Mike to go up the mountain to hit the trails. John and Mike rode down Dark Hollow and I picked them up at the bottom of the trail (by Parowan). Then, John and I rode down Bunker Creek (by Panguitch Lake). It was a little chilly, but perfect riding temperature! These trails are considered down hill trails, so we were decked out in our full-face helmets. No injuries!
Saturday morning, we met our buddy Matt from our ward at Gooseberry Mesa. It's an awesome trail system between Hurricane and Colorado City, UT. Awesome riding there also! These pictures are both from Gooseberry last year...This is the kind of trail you get a work out on. It is very "up and down" riding. Push really hard to make it to the top of the slick rock, then coast for a little bit down some technical spots. Challenging, but so fun! I put on my elbow pads because of past experience. (The slick rock is not soft like the desert sand we are used to) These random guys were basically making fun of me at the parking lot because of the elbow pads. They left before us. It gave me great pleasure to pass them (rather quickly) on the trail. Matt told me that one of them said, "See, I told you she would pass us." Ha! Here's some humble pie you spandex lovin' tough guys!

We saw The Game Plan today. Great movie! I loved it! John thought it was "cute." Great family flick...
